The St. Sixtus-walk (Westvleteren)
This route wanders along the quiet byways around the sleepy village of Westvleteren. The landscape is pleasantly undulating and the route makes use of church roads, grass tracks and country lanes. The itinerary leads walkers through a patchwork quilt of woods, hop fields and grasslands. A British military cemetery recalls distant echoes of the First World War, while the Abbey of Westvleteren – the starting point of the route - is world-famous for its Trappist beer. Only available in Dutch.
